Position Summary
As Manager of Systems Engineering, you will lead the design, deployment, quality assurance, and performance optimization of Rekor’s intelligent roadway systems, ensuring customers receive reliable, high-quality data and scalable technical solutions by guiding field engineering, technical architecture, and system validation activities.

As Manager of Systems Engineering, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading QA/QC efforts to monitor and validate performance of deployed systems across DAAS, POC, and production environments
• Overseeing specialized field technicians responsible for installations, including advanced solutions such as Virtual Weigh-In-Motion (WIM)
• Managing Technical Architects in designing innovative, scalable solutions for bids, proposals, and customer deployments
• Driving rapid response and root cause resolution when system performance or data quality issues arise
• Ensuring technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation meet engineering and operational standards
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams

• Consistent production of accurate, standards-compliant engineering drawings
• Enhanced collaboration between engineering, field operations, and solution design teams

You bring to the organization the following:

Education – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience – Typically 5–8+ years in systems engineering, field engineering, or technical leadership roles
Leadership – Proven ability to lead technical teams, field technicians, and solution architects
Behavioral Competencies – Customer focus, problem solving, accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and strategic thinking
Technical Expertise
– Systems engineering & deployment oversight
– QA/QC & performance validation
– Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
– Field installations & hardware/software integration
– Virtual WIM / sensor-based systems (preferred)
In-Depth Knowledge Of – System diagnostics, incident response, and root cause analysis
Strong Skills In – Technical leadership, cross-functional communication, and decision-making
Analysis Of – System performance metrics, operational data quality, and deployment risks
Tools – Proficiency with MS Office Suite and engineering/design tools
Geo – [Insert location or Hybrid/Remote structure]
Travel Requirement – Up to 60% domestic travel
