Position Summary
Newly created opportunity as Compliance and Safety Manager will be responsible to manage and promote systems safety work culture whereby regulations are adhered to, documented, and reported promptly, oversee compliance of safety rules set forth by state agencies and train and educate all field employees to meet required standards, establish work and safety processes and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
The Contribution:
- Responsible for Rekor Safety and Compliance operational oversight to support statewide Construction Managers to execute statewide customer projects effectively and safely.
- Develop, manage, implement quality control and field job site safety procedures, documentation, as well incident management then identify root causes, recommend and document corrective / preventive actions.
- Subject matter safety expert with knowledge of state regulations
- Monitor employee safety performance and recommend process improvement
- Educate, train and coach employees on compliance in the field, teaching safe work techniques, effective safety methods and processes, promoting requirements for safe work culture.
- Review contracts to understand pricing and required equipment necessary to execute each job safely.
- Approve product list for each state agency, ensuring Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are properly recorded and maintained.
- Oversee material usage and waste to reduce expenses unnecessary
- Point of contact for communication when equipment is unsafe or does not fit the current use requirement.
- Attend business operations meetings and address immediate or long-term concerns that require attention to ensure culture of safety.

You bring to the organization the following competencies:
- College Degree preferred, HS diploma required.
- Min 3 – 5 yrs experience in Transportation / Construction Compliance or Safety role
- Experience with Safety, Quality Control, Materials Safety handling
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations for Safety.
- Must be willing to learn new operations technology
- Prefer some instructional training and self confidence to educate employees on safety or operations of equipment and materials.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Geography preferred: US East or Southeast near major metropolitan area
- Travel requirement: approx. 25% per month throughout the US
