We are looking for an experienced Safety Manager to join our ATL Site who is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and customers across all company operations. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees on safety programs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Safety Manager will oversee the implementation of established safety programs, perform safety audits, provide training and coaching, and work closely with customers to assess and improve their safety practices. Forklift operation and certification are essential to this role. Frequent travel to customer locations is required.
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure safety programs are consistent with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Regularly review and improve existing safety programs.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments at company and customer locations to identify potential hazards.
- Prioritize and mitigate risks using effective strategies and techniques.
- Provide recommendations for reducing risks and improving safety protocols.
- Deliver training sessions for employees on safety protocols, including forklift safety, emergency procedures, and hazard identification.
- Tailor training to specific teams and job functions to ensure clear understanding and compliance.
- Conduct onboarding for new employees to familiarize them with safety programs.
- Provide ongoing refresher training for continued safety awareness.
- Perform safety audits and inspections at customer locations and internal operations.
- Identify safety hazards, ensure compliance, and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and other safety incidents to determine root causes.
- Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall safety culture.
- Track and measure key safety performance metrics, including incident rates, near-misses, and compliance adherence.
- Work closely with the performance team to develop and refine safety-related KPIs and reporting mechanisms.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for proactive improvement.
- Drive safety initiatives to improve performance metrics and ensure continuous improvement in workplace safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into operational processes.
- Maintain documentation of safety audits, incident reports, certifications, and training records.
- Serve as a liaison with customers to ensure safety protocols are integrated into their operations.
- Work with leadership to create a culture of safety and compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns from employees and customers.
- Lead emergency drills, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Ensure emergency response plans are in place and up-to-date at customer locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a safety management role, with field and warehouse experience.
- Proven experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safety programs.
- OSHA 30-hour training, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift Certification (Required).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
- Ability to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Experience in safety performance tracking, data analysis, and KPI development.
- Proficiency in using risk assessment tools, safety management software, and reporting dashboards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer locations
