The Field Data Validation Team Lead is responsible for managing a team of specialists dedicated to testing, collecting ground-truth data, and documenting UVeye system performance at various customer sites. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Team Lead will spend approximately 40% of their time directly involved in data-related tasks, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the data collected. This role requires a balance of managerial skills and hands-on technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in the data validation process.

The position is temporary and will last for a duration of up to 12 weeks.

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Field Data Validation and Operations Specialists, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
  • Data Work (40%): Actively participate in collecting, analyzing, and validating datasets, using Python-based scripts to assist in the training of AI algorithms and reporting on system performance.
  • Process Oversight: Ensure consistency and accuracy in data validation processes across different customer sites.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and validate diverse datasets, ensuring data integrity, and provide feedback to improve data validation practices.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and interpret data insights, contributing to reports on UVeye system performance and algorithm detection rates.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with global teams such as R&D to align on data validation strategies and objectives.
  • Task Management: Assign tasks, manage priorities, and ensure that the team adapts to shifting requirements as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in data validation and operations.
  • Customer Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for customer sites, ensuring that data collection and validation meet customer requirements and expectations.

Requirements

  • Technical Background: Degree in a relevant field (STEM) or equivalent technical experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading teams, preferably in data validation, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python for data analysis and hands-on experience in data validation processes.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset are essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Adaptability: Ability to pivot tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • Customer Focus: Experience in customer service or support is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Required for company travel.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, work on the field under varying conditions, and perform manual vehicle inspections, which may involve walking, kneeling, and exposure to different weather conditions.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including both driving and flying.
