BringOz is growing and is looking for a talented individual with a wide skill set to join our R&D team as VP of Engineering.

In a startup environment, a Vice President of Engineering often plays a crucial role that extends beyond just managing the engineering team. We are looking for the person who is up for a challenge, enjoys implementing new processes and sees themselves growing with the company.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team.
    Lead, manage and guide the team to deliver high-quality software products that meet business requirements and customer needs.
    Execution of the company's technical strategy, driving innovation and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

  2. Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of engineers – local and remote, building and maintaining a high-performing engineering team capable of executing the company's strategic vision.
    Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent, ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the startup environment.
    Develop a strong engineering culture that encourages team engagement, high morale, and retention.
    Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to engineers, fostering leadership skills and career growth within the team.

  3. Operational Excellence: Drive operational excellence within the engineering department, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
    Optimize team workflows and processes to enhance project execution efficiency.
    Develop our internal design and development processes to deliver proven product in minimum time.
    Promote a culture of innovation within the engineering team, encouraging creative solutions and technological advancements that can lead to new product features or optimizations.
    Monitor and optimize the performance of engineering operations to reduce costs and improve product quality and speed to market. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other departments to define requirements, prioritize tasks, ensure alignment of engineering efforts with overall company goals, and deliver solutions on time and within budget.
    Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

  5. Technology Stack Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of appropriate technologies and tools to support product development and engineering operations.

  6. Project Management: Lead project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies, proactively addressing issues that may impact project timelines or outcomes.

  8. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring robustness, security, and performance of software products.

  9. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and excellence.

  10. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key liaison between the engineering team and senior management, providing regular updates on project status, technical insights, recommendations on technical matters and challenges and opportunities for improvement.
    Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical teams and stakeholders.

  11. Planning the people growth strategy for the technology department, in collaboration with both HR and department managers as regards defining the recruitment process for their teams.

  12. Maintaining alliances with Bringoz’s key customers

Requirements

* At least 10 years in the technology industry, preferably including with startup company/ies

* 5+ years proven experience in managing teams

* Proven experience working with remote development teams

* Proven experience in implementing new processes (leading to improvement in the relevant areas)

* 3+ years operational experience

* Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build productive cross-departmental relationships and motivate team members. Positive, can-do attitude and value collaboration a must.

* Experience leading SaaS-based engineering organizations

* Degree in Computer Science

* Availability to solve critical issues as necessary
